Are passwords and logins case sensitive?

Passwords are case sensitive, but your login is not. Check your Caps Lock key if your password fails. If you have forgotten your password, use the “Forgot your password?” link on the login page.

If you need to change your password click “User Profile” then “Edit Profile”.  From this window you will need to enter your current password then enter your new password in the boxes provided.

From the home page click the “Add New” link and select the type of item you want to add.  You can also add an item from your user profile by clicking the “Add New Memory” link.

All uploaded content must be approved by a library moderator before it becomes viewable. Please wait until the content is approved.

Can I create and save a draft copy of an entry before submitting it for moderation?

Yes.  All entries and edits are saved as a draft until you set the moderation state to “submit for moderation”.  Drafts can viewed and submitted by clicking the “My Submissions” link at the top of the homepage.

Why would someone need to edit a page?

Orlando Memory is a collaborative effort. One user can upload content and another can edit the associated description. This helps to generate better information. For example, if a user uploads an old photograph to OM and is unsure about the people in this photo, then another user can update the description to include the correct names.

Are users allowed to delete content?

Are users allowed to delete content?

Only moderators are able to delete content. However, users may flag content if it: is inaccurate, is a duplicate, was entered by mistake, is inappropriate, or is inaccurate. A moderator will review the flag and act on it appropriately.

Find the memory that you wish to edit. Then, click the “Add To Memory” link located near the top of the screen.

How do I browse the collection?

Orlando Memory content is organized by topic, also called a "memory." Browse memories by using the vertical navigation menu on the left side of each page. Choose from all topics, places, person, events, or organizations. You can also use the search box or browse by tags.

Why are tags important?

Tags are another way to group and link content together. When browsing, look for tags to find other interesting memories. When creating or editing a memory, using tags is strongly encouraged.

Are discussion posts reviewed by a moderator before they are viewable?

No, they are not. Discussion posts are immediately viewable by the OM community. Please be courteous and polite to your fellow participants.
