International Holocaust Remembrance Day is January 27, 2018. The day commemorates the great losses of the Holocaust and was chosen by the United Nations in recognition of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi death camp.
To commemorate this day, the Holocaust Center will host a special presentation discussion with Mickey Bielski on Sunday, January 28. Mickey’s father, Tuvia Bielski, was the leader of the Bielski Brothers, an organization of Jewish partisans who formed an armed brigade and fought against the Nazi’s and their collaborators.
Listen as Mickey Bielski and Holocaust survivors remember Tuvia Bielski’s leadership which led to the saving of 1,200 Jewish lives, during the Holocaust.
