Pine Castle Historical Society

The Pine Castle Woman’s Club was organized as a 501(c)(3) non-profit service organization in 1940. For many years one of its primary objectives was the preservation of local history. In 2014, they decided to formalize this effort by organizing the Pine Castle Historical Society.


The first meeting of our new society, held on June 23, 2014, was a book signing for our first joint publication, Dateline: Pine Castle, stories of Orange County, 1870-1890, as reported by Will Wallace Harney by Dr. Paul W. Wehr.


Our initial mission was to collect, preserve and present the very important, and almost forgotten, history of Greater Pine Castle through the publication of books and other printed materials…
